My friend Walter is new to surfing. So far, he is borrowing gear, both wetsuit and boards. The wetsuit comes from a mutual friend who outgrew it. His current borrow board is a Paskowitz surf camp board, a 7/0 fun shape. When he brought it over, it was covered with old wax and some miscellaneous stickers… not a great sign!
Sure enough, after stripping it down and peeling off the big sticker on the deck, as I suspected, the board is shipping water through a great big gash! There is a definite hole in the deck, and the tail is chipped along the rail in two places. The nose doesn’t look very healthy either.
No big deal… this is what Sun Cure is for!
